Ms. Kleber can be contacted at [email protected]
Tutoring with Ms. Kleber is available on Monday after school - a permission slip signed by a parent is required. Students are expected to work on their basic addition and multiplication facts for homework every evening until they become fluent (can without hesitation provide the answers to addition and multiplication problems up to 12 + 12 and 12 x 12). Please work with your student and encourage them to practice their math facts at least 15 -20 minutes every evening. Knowing their math facts is vital to their success in working with fractions, which is a large portion of the fifth grade math curriculum. If your student has access to the internet, I would like to suggest a few sites where they can practice interactively on-line: aaamath.com coolmath.com mathisfun.com and mathplayground.com. Otherwise, flash cards are still a reliable method for learning math facts and can be easily made from index cards.
